Start the revolution

Look around yourself and see

The children, the youngsters -

The youth

That care not of anything

But themselves.

They don´t know of the world

Besides that that is portrayed

On the media and the box,

Some know some things

About some others

But they don’t batter a lash

Or a concern

For those who aren´t as they are.

Ignorance, selfishness, foolishness,

Laziness and lack of drive

All thrive together in these beings

That are the youth around.

So here is the proposition

To start a revolution

That will change the face

Of youthful ignorance.

Let the children know:

That those ugly pictures that flash by on the news

That are too upsetting to see

They are the truth in the raw.

Teach them to appreciate

To rebel against that that is

That shouldn’t be…

Why should one child live in luxury?

Whilst you need not go too far,

Just down the street,

To see a child in poverty.

Who is it that decides?

That some children should suffer

That they should starve

Be orphaned, be abused

And excluded from society?

When it is through no fault of theirs

That they are where they are?

So here is the proposition

To start a revolution

That will change the way

That lives are wrongly affected.
